Three speed trans linkage

Need help adjusting the linkage on my 55 FORD MAINLINE.I bought the car dis assembled. I have assembled it But need help with the trans linkage. The trans will not shift. I need to know i have the linkage correct on the trans and on the column.

David,

You didn't give me much info here. What is a Ford Mainline?
I will give you some general info for setting up most transmissions with linkage that needs to be "fitted"

I put the transmission in neutral with no linkage attached.
I then put the shifter in neutral. There should be two bars that can be adjusted at the ends. Without moving either the shifter or the transmission levers fit the linkage to their respective holes. I also like to replace the nylon bushings in the levers so the bars fit snug.

help

THE CAR IS A FORD MAINLINE WITH A 3 SPEED 2.77 MANUAL TRANS MISSION. i DO NOT KNOW IF i HAVE THE SHIFT ARMS INSTALLED CORRECTLY. NOR IF I HAVE THE LINKAGE ON THE PROPER PLACE.
