I just finished building my sbc 350, which I added an Edelbrock performer intake. Once the engine is back in the vehicle, I'll be putting on a new Edelbrock 600cfm carb with a 1/2" spacer gasket. I have installed the kit from Edelbrock onto the carb to attach the cruise control, throttle, and tv cables. The stock bracket that holds the throttle cable, tv cable (for a 700r4 trans) and the cruise control now sits slightly lower then the originally with the stock intake and Qjet. Can I still use the stock bracket or should I invest in aftermarket brackets?
The 700R4 is very sensitive to throttle cable setting and you can't assume your new carb has the proper geometry. Bowtie has a patented bolt-on trottle lever that provides the proper TV cable operation as well as an inexpensive trans oil pressure gauge so you can properly set the TV cable. It must be done by pressure.
Hey Willys36, we could really increase Bowtie Overdrives business. Steve's a real nice guy and he knows his business. But! Have you seen the secretary in his office? WOW, I am still limping.
