I have a standard Weiand setup with a 6-71 Blower on a Chevy 355 installed on a Porsche 928. The other day I made a stab at the throttle (a short blip) to impress my wife and the throttle stuck wide open. We were launched sideways 400 feet through front lawns and various curbs in the two seconds it took to turn the engine off.
The damage is over $5,000. The base of the throttle assembly (similar setup on tunnel rams) had stuck and was easily repeatable when my mechanic tried to see what was wrong. The bearing seems to be the problem. Has anybody had problems with this dangerous set-up which is potentially fatal?
