Throttle plates will not open completely?
I am working on a 1930 model A street rod with a 350 engine and a Holley 4 barrel carb with mechanical secondarys. I have installed a spoon type gas pedal. There are 3 holes on the lever that moves the cable and I have the cable in the top hole. I have played around with it, and when the gas pedal in fully depressed, the throttle plates inside the carb are only 3/4 of the way opened. I can not seem to adjust it so the throttle plates will open completely. Any suggestions on how I can do this? Thanks

first things first.
With the foot pedal linkage not connected to the carb, will the carb open all the way?. I have rebuilt carbs and followed the instruction sheet and NOT had them work correctly, Yoy might have to heat and bend parts , add an extension on the arm etc.

Stop built into the gas peddle
Yes, I can manually open the throttle plates all the way buy pulling the cable back and additional 3/4 inch. It appears after closer examination that there is a stop built into the gas peddle which limits the travel. I might be able to grind this off to allow the cable to come back enough to open the throttle plates completely.
