Maybe I'm not explaing it correctly. The Bell housing I'm told is deeper because it is a scatter shield. The throw out bearing that was in the car with the old clutch is 5/8-3/4" longer than the one that came with the new clutch. Someone said that I should use the old bearing because the new one is too short to disengage the clutch because of the larger deeper bell housing.
I'm not a gear head so I don't know if this is true but it sounds logical. Does it make a differance because of the bell housing depth.
