Throwout Bearing

GM's bearings are all the same , but the carriers are different .
Also depends on the type pressure plate use, weather or not you
have an adjustable pivot ball...etc. Call your local parts store .

Check with mcleodind.com I have HP books Clutch & flywheel Handbook and it shows three GM throw out bearings: one diaphragm and two Long style throw out bearings, a stock Long style and another with about a 3/4" longer neck for use with thinner flywheels and some scatter shields. Unfortunately the McLeod part #s are four digits and the part #s in my PAW book are five digits. (Old 1600 = stock and 1602 = 3/4" longer) (PAW stock = 16001) The book was printed in 1977 so a lot has changed but I looked at their web site and they show the same three bearings under GM parts. Hope this helps.

The 16002 is what I need. I can get by with this I think. I use a mid plate engine moun and lose a 1/4 inch of bearing clearance coupled with a small clutch combo I lose another 1/4. The long bearing PN 16002 is 3/4 longer than the norm used on early cars and mostly trucks. I can make up the other 1/4 with an adjustable pivot ball.

Thanks a ton.

Now I'm off the part's store

Can't wait for them to ask me what year make and model
