Rack and pinion tie rod ends too large for GM knuckle

Hi to all
I have an early 80s GM disc front end that has been converted to mustang rack steering. The problem is the tie rod ends used are larger Diameter than the original Gm knuckle holes, Previous owner had these installed with lock tite on nut (no pin or castle nut used) .I would like to know if there is a smaller diameter rod end available that would fit into the GM knuckle?

That sounds scary to me. I don't know of any particular tie rod ends that would fit, but you can ream the hole out for the larger tie rods. Just have to find someone that has the right reamer. It has to be tapered. Many times the people that have race cars and do their own work have them. Or might check with a machine shop in the area. I don't have any idea what they cost to buy one.

Speedway (www.speedwaymotors.com) sells the reamers.
