Tie Rods = one time use?

I removed the centerlink from my C-10. I went to reinstall it and when I tighten the nuts on the tie rod, the stud just spins. I assume they were designed this way so that they must be replaced after you remove the nut? Is there any shame in just replacing the inner tie rod, or should I get inner, outer, and adjustment sleeve?

If it's a fairly new and in good shape tie rod end, clamp it tight in the taper fit, make sure the threads on both nut and stud are clean, and bolt it in place. Even a brand new tie rod end can spin in its socket if it's not tight in the taper and the threads are a bit distorted or dirty.
