Yeah, I had the same type problem with a set of Hedman headers on my project. I did a lot of searching and finally cam up with a nice set of cast iron stock manifolds from Dorman. Works great

Is there enough belt contact for the water pump pulley?looks "OK"

Here's a pic from Alan Grove website. I thought the same thing but by the time I get the A/C on it should have more than enough. I don't have the A/C yet just stuck the alternator on it for reference

I am planning on running Allen Grove brackets also, on my project> What aire cleaner are you using? My project is a tube chassis VW Type III Squareback station wagen

Not sure yet. Thinking about an aluminum oval 12- 14" but i don't want to have to order special filters for ir.
