tilt column for 36 Chrysler

Building a 36 Chrysler 2 door sedan airstream streetrod. Looking for a chevy donor car for a tilt column. Anyone out there found the right car with the right tilt column for your 36?

As the Moderator.........I deleted your double post of this question.....

As for the column......

A lot of rodders around here use the Chevrolet/GMC van tilt column. It looks good, has the shift indicator on the column, has a neutral start switch and no ugly key .

My 1936 Plymouth rod has a GM tilt wheel that is supposed to be out of a late '70's/early 80's GM van. As Deuce said it works great. acr

how to measure length of steering column

I see guys advertise tilt columns that have been shortened for a streetrod. Where do you take the measurements for the column? Just end to end? Also, you mention 70's to early 80's van columns should fit. What length are these?

Mine is stock length, the factory sheet metal collar where it bolted to the van floor was cut off. I'll try to measure in the next day or so.
