Talking tilt hood padding

I'm doing a tilt front end on my truck and am looking for some type of padding to use between the hood and the cab cowl.Since this will show everytime the hood is open I want something that isn detracting from the look of my truck but will offer some protection from wear where the two pieces rub together...

any suggestions guys... some of you 3 piece hood guys should have some good ideas...

I've got about a 1/4" to use and maybe 1" wide

TIA

john

I saw a 39 Dodge pick up and the hood welting that the guy used was of all things, nylon webbing. Now get this it was nylon webbing like they use for dog collars, dog leashes and horse halters and reins. This material can be bought around here at any feed and farm supply store. It comes in colors, neat, the truck that I saw it on was yellow. so he used yellow webbing. It looked good and did a good job. I am going to paint my 30 Ford coupe yellow so I am going to do the same thing.

I use 1" wide Velcro. Just use the furry side, not the hooks side. It comes pre-glued, just cut and press it in place! Nice and soft and very durable.

I use black rubber buttons. you can get them to mount in holes or glue on or stick on..
A hardware store sells something like the stick on ones. but there clear. about the size of a dime
