TIme for frame work.. Adding new half frame

http://i865.photobucket.com/albums/a...6/frame003.jpg http://i865.photobucket.com/albums/a...6/frame002.jpg http://i865.photobucket.com/albums/a...6/frame004.jpg

In starting on my 54 3100 I noticed the frame had a little more rot than thought at first. So i purchased an S-10 frame that has been C-notched and set up for a 4 link air bag set up. Measuring from the rear spring shackle mount to the front of the frame I have 8 feet to work with. I'm hoping that is enough as I plan on joining the two at the rear of the cab. I have another 18" of frame to the rear from the shackle to the end for the bed. But again can shorten the bed one it come time to mount. The truck is a short wheelbase, information and advice on doing this will be much appreciated as this is a first attempt at anything like this. Thanks

In doing some measuring looks Like I need 62" from centerline of axle to the front. I'll be able to shorten plenty; but also have to cut out the braces and narrow the frame in about an inch and a half. I'm thinking now if I need to z the frame any with c-notch. and bag system.
