Timing Chain Gear doesn't line up on the cam?
Hey guys quick rundown: 89 Chev truck block, originally flat tappet cam. I have and installed comp cams 08-601-8 camshaft which is hydraulic roller. The timing set i have is sealed power double roller KT3163S. The cam gear does not line up with the cam, its like the holes are out too much as if the cam is smaller or something. What chain do i need to go with? Would 1991 corvette one work or what model car would one work out of ? (ordering from local parts store)

It would likely be because the roller has the cam retention plate on the front of it and requires a timing set for a OEM Roller cam such as this:

If you converting over to a roller cam be sure you have the plate on front of the block between the cam and timing gear.
