timing off?

small block 327...750 holley carb...`195s afr heads...msd 6al ignition...i can get the car to start and run at a steady 2000 and up on rpms but trying to bring the car down to a idle to set idle timing car will die...does this sound like a timing issue or something else? any suggestions?

Need more specs on the engine. What cam, what compression? Could be your cam is big enough it doesn't want to idle down.
