Hello To All Of My Fellow Hotrodders,i Installed A Acell Hei Distributor In A 1971 Buick 350-4bbl.the Engine Clatters On Heavy Acceleration.what Is The Timing An The Correct Way To Time The Engine? Thank You For Aquick Respond Big Al Houston,texas

You need a timing light. Disconnect the vacuum hose from the distributor and set the initial timing to 12 degrees advanced. Hook up the vacuum hose and test drive. Buicks like alot of timing, the factory setting is 4 degrees advanced. You should be able to get away with 12 degrees advanced.
