Tiny bubbles in paint!!!
I had my car painted about 2 years ago.. It has been in a heated garage since, and has only been out for shows.. I just noticed in a few areas some small bubbles in the paint, about the size of a pinhead. Looks like air under the surface. WTH!?!? They were not there a few months ago... what would cause this? I'm guessing something they screwed up in the prep work or something... It makes me want to cry.... Paint jobs are not cheap and when you take such good care of it and it still goes bad this quick, something is wrong...

With the little info we have and taking this long to show up, here are your causes.
Acid etch primer Lacquer primer Lacquer Paint single component sealer |
The orginal paint was lacquer I'm pretty sure, and don't think they stripped it completely... One of the last years for lacquer. Is that probably it then? Argh... I kinda wondered about that when they did it, but completely forgot...

Exactly where are these spots?

Just kinda random around on the car.. I first noticed a few on the top of the back quarter, then a couple on the center of the passenger door, then a few on the top of one of the front fenders. It only seems to be on metal, none on the plastic parts yet.
