Tip of the day #26
I finally got one
Everybody probably does this but. Ever had to make a hole in a body panel for hoses or wires and need a grommet for it. Just use a section of vacuum hose split down the middle to cover the sharp edges. You can make them any size or shape you need. Now I found a couple of pretty good tools to do this with. To cut any hoses use anvil type pruning shears. I've cut all sizes of hose with these all the way up to #10 AC hose and 3/4" heater hose. Now to split the hose I use carpet or hook blades in my utility knife. I start the cut at one end and put it in my vise and then run what ever length I need. It won't cut thru the other side and you can control it very nicely. Heres a couple of pics showing what I mean. http://hotrodders.com/gallery/showp...g/cat/500/page/ http://hotrodders.com/gallery/showp...g/cat/500/page/ David |

re: Tip of the day #26
Great tip David.
Don't ever worry about a tip being to simple. Some people, like me, need them. |
