the waterproof/ oil tight knockout cover might look better in there.
you could hit it with a spray bomb and install it.
these have a foam seal and a wing nut on the back to fasten them
you can get these at any home depot WIEGMANN Hole Seal, Oil Tight - Enclosure Hole Seals - 6C749|WAS050 - Grainger Industrial Supply
