tips to rotating crank

Any tips on how to roatate the crank while ur putting the bottom end toghear I have always used the balancer bolt but realy don't want to frorce it is there any tricks to doing it better

Leave the key in the front of the crank. Use a large Cresent wrench. Set it to just clear the OD of crank snout and the wrench on key will turn the assembly.

Been doing it this way for over fifty years.

There is a special socket available that slips on the front of the crankshaft. I think I got one from Summit. I do like the adjustable wrench method too though.

tips to rotating crank

Here is an inexpensive tool to use when you have the balancer off. Proform Crankshaft-Turning Sockets 66901 - SummitRacing.com. If you have the balancer already installed here is another tool for rotating the crankshaft. Proform Engine Rotation Adapters 66782 - SummitRacing.com.
