Tire Sizes

OK...so when it comes to hot rods, "bigger is better"....but then again....even a fat fendered 36 Ford has it limits....and besides this one is primarily a Street Rod with possibly a time or two invisioned at the local 1/8mile track.

The car should weigh about 2,800 lbs...the engine will be a 425hp, 440lb, 383 stroker hooked to a 700R and 3.70 posi. With this in mind what would be the minimum tire sizes one should consider? I'm thinking 16" rims on the rear.

ps...standard axle width, no tubs....

Might be my old school thinking....but with that kinda horsepower and no more than that car weighs.....I would put the biggest meats on the back that would fit in your fender wells.
