This is really going to make me sound like I need a life ...
Do you guys ever watch shows like "House Hunters International"?
I find it quite interesting to see homes and their values in other countries.
The show that I can't figure out is called "Live here, buy this"
It seems that lots of Torontonians are selling their ("just average") homes for around $600,000.00 and moving to warmer locales, buying some really nice homes (better than the ones they had in TO) for a whole bunch less.
That part is entirely understandable ... the tough part is understanding how they make a living in that other country?
Any place that I have even dreamed about will NOT allow you to work in their country. The Cayman Islands for example has a clause that you have to be a "person of means" and to put a $750,000.00 (IIRC) deposit in their bank before you can own property there.
