Tires/raised white letters

I put tires(cheap) on the back of my 28 coupe and now I have a problem. In the past I have put raised white lettered tires on other cars and put them inside out so that the raised white lettering was on the inside. The problem I have is that you can see the white lettering from the back of the car. Question is how to get rid of the white lettering so that they are not so noticeable. Can I just paint over the white lettering with black paint so that they won't look to bad and if so what kind will work best.

I know it seems like a dumb question and I have a bunch of them.

Thanks for your help.
