What are some of the things I need to know before I can title a home built? I live in Texas. I've looked around a bit on the DMV site but either it's not there or I'm over looking it. Does Texas go by the year of the motor or just call it by when it was built?
your going to have to CALL the DMV ( if they are ANYTHING like here in Missouri, good luck with that! ). I dont know if you have Highway Patrol Inspection Stations, but if you do, you might get ahold of them too.
If you search on this site you will find a lot of states discussed there is about a page about texas .... search: How to title a hot rod. It's in the WIKI or knowledge base
In Texas unless you have something that states the year of the vehicle you must go with a Manufactured Vehicle title that will assign the current year to the vehicle. This may or may not require you to meet current emission standards. You will be required to first obtain a "green sheet" from a certified State Inspection facility.
