Too Much Fun!

I got a little note that reminded me I hadn't posted in a while so here goes. We have a 39 Chevy coupe, 235/6 with a 5spd. od. This past winter we completely rebuilt the car mechanically as well as all new electrical. Oh ya, also new floor boards and all new body mounts. Our goal was to have the car done for a trip to Hershey, PA. for the Goodguys event the end of May. I first started the newly rebuilt engine on Tuesday morning about 10:00 AM. Took the then unfinished car for a front end alignment at 12:00. We finished the car at 2:00 AM the following morning, Wednesday and left home at 8:00 AM the same morning for Hershey. The new/old 6 didn't miss a beat. We won the long distance award along with friends who drove their ultra nice 53 Chevy truck along with us just under 800 miles 1 way. The ONLY problem we had was driving home in the rain. We had installed new windshield glass and hadn't had time to get it sealed. Water dripped into my left shoe all day Monday.
It had been a dream of mine since childhood to drive a "Hot Rod" on a vacation across country and we finally did it!
So there you have it, we have been having too much fun with it since.
Thanks...Bob& Robin

Great, I mean GRRREAT!! I am happy for you and hope you have lots of time to enjoy it. I'll certainly be glad when I can get mine on the road. I have a 250 ci six-banger and a TH350 to motivate it. I have a ways to go before I can make that claim though. Until then I can dream.

Thanks guys, we really are having a ball. Future plans include a trip west on Route 66 in our 56 Belair when it's finished and hopefully a trip to Hot August Nights in Reno. This is of course subject to change, wife/financial advisor.
Happy Motoring...Bob & Robin
