Top coat for barn find 1949 Chevy Pu
I have a 1949 Chevy pickup that was found in a barn. Lots of good metal , lots of good patina. The truck was originally blue but has so much barn dust and gravel dust it looks green. I can rub it with my hand and it goes down to the blue with some elbow grease. I want to give it a bath and return it to the original blue skin. I intend to leave it patina'd but I see so many of these patina trucks with a top coat of something that they either look wet or oily. What should I use to remove the dust and get down to the blue? The patina rust also feels rough, what can I do to smooth this out a bit but not ruin the patina and what can I use for a top coat?
