Post Top Fuel HP Torque

May 30,2003 National dragster magazine article,on Doug Kalitta's top fuel was fitted with torque-sensors,computer program by a Patrick Hale on one of his runs they determined: 4:486 seconds,331.91 mph, peak hp 7,933, torque 6,205 pounds-feet,4g's at the hit of throttle (.25 second),4.5g's at clutch lockup,279mph at half track and 1g at finish line. Now that's impressive

Most fantastic engines ever built. Amazing to spend that time, money and effort to build an engine that is desinged for a useful run life of less than 10 minutes! I LOVE 'em.

Ummm...I love the smell of burning nitro, but only from a distance. Gotta agree with you about the Super Stock racing, 78. I was ticked at this past Gatornats because they shipped all the sportsman racers ( including the Super Stockers! )to Orlando due to rain related problems ( mushy pits )and kept only the pro racers in Gainesville. We saw none of the qualifying or eliminations. Nothing like the wheels up launches in SS!
