Torq Thrust dimensions

Hey everyone, I have an odd request that maybe someone might be able to help with. I'm trying to figure out the correct size, offset, backspace, etc I need for my 68 Impala with Corvette discs. I've taken measurements but I wanted to take it a step further and build a cross section template of the wheel made out of cardboard or foam board. Does anyone know where I can get the dimensions I need to create something like this. I just want to double check the measurements I took and figured that this template would be even more accurate. The wheel of choice is a Torq Thrust II 17x8 or an 18x8, offset TBD. Thanks for any help.

Go to They have a chart that shows how to measure all dimensions on a wheel. It is downloadable so you can print it out. I downloaded the whole catalog and it is in there some place. This probably will let you get started.

Here's a great article.

Car Craft Magazine, October 2006, "How To Fit Those Oh-Too Wide Wheels and Tires", p. 36,

showing a neat home made measuring tool and step by step what to do and what to watch out for.

The article should be on their website under tech articles.

Also Popular Hot Rodding, Dec 2006, p.84, Wheel Of Fortune shows a neat tool with a tire contour guide installed to check clearances.

Aren't computers wonderful? We can talk to someone anywhere in the world, tell them about an article, and they don't even have to find a magazine, they can read the article on the mag's own website.

I recently went through the same thing on my 34. I used one of the above mentioned sites. I also went with Torque Thrusts II's chrome centers. I got the wheels and tires (Nitto Neo Gen's) from Newstalgia Wheels. Worked out great 15x7 on front and 17x8 on rear with 4-3/4" offset. FWIW the wheel offsets are available in 1/4" increments only.
