torque converter

ok,i checked with my converter guy.here are some generic answers.the 400 converter should have about 1200-1300 stall,the 350 because it is smaller,about 1400-1500,if these converters are stock,if they have been rebuilt all bets are off.also if you sit the converter on a bench,with the hub that goes into the trans sitting straight up,you will see raised ribs on the cover.the ribs that are the greastest distance from the hub signify the stall.if the ribs are leaning to the right the stall will be higher than if the ribs were standing straight,if the ribs are leaning to the left,the stall will be lower.this is true in most cases,esp ford and gm.hope this helps
