What is this 383 in and what rear gears does it have ? depending what you do with this ride i would think at-least a 2500 stall with a 9 inch converter. JMO
You could alway's call a place that builds converters and give them all you specs and they can build you what you need. JMO

I have the same engine (383), 700 R4, 3.73 gears, .540 lift cam, in my 1984 Chevy C-10. The truck weighs 4,000 lbs, and I called TCI and went with convertor part number # 243105. Ken.
