What vehicle? What is the weight?

You mention mild 350 chevy engine build in other threads.

Is this a T-bucket or steel full body car?

If the converter clutch was locked the engine would die - not run,

I had a similar issue using a stock converter with a cam that spec'd a 2200 stall, swapped converters and the problem went away. Not sure if this is what's going on for you, but I thought I would give you my 2 cents

That does sound like a Light weight car / low Stall TC problem.
Does it want to creep forward while stopped and rpms drop too low?

Lockup shouldn't be a problem after it drops out of 3rd gear.

I have to set the idle at 1300 rpm in park in order for it to idle at 700rpm in drive, and it feels like it still want to move when at a stop light, its a very mild motor should be able to idle 900 in park 650 in drive no problem, I just ordered a 2200 stall converter plan on installing it this week hopefully thats my problem

I have the same problem. Mine is a 350 motor with mild cam, 350TH. Did the new torque converter solve your problem?
