Post torque converter switch

Can someone please explain the pro,s and con,s of using a torque converter lock switch. I'm told to cut a particular wire and put a toggle switch. My main question is" What can it do for me and my high preformance 350 and how to use it properly ?"
Thanks, Rick

Need more info on your car.Year/Make what transmission Etc. However basicaly .The convertor Lock up(Torque convertor Clutch)Is designed to come on at cruising speeds to save fuel. It does this by Making the engine turn the same speed as the input shaft going into the trans just like a manual trans does .At that point there would be no convertor Hydraulic slippage so you would save gas. The switch would be there for you to shut off or turn it on at your decretion. Say if your long duration camshaft was making the engine lug.
