towing TH350, problems?

Guys, need your advice on towing a 69 C10 pickup with a TH350. I was thinking about getting a car dolly and towing the truck with front wheels off. Then a friend of mine mentioned something about messing up the pump, since the tranny even in neutral will be still engaged via the drive shaft.

The transmission doesn't have reverse gear right now and I am planning on rebuilding it no matter what. How big is the damage to the internals going to be if I tow the truck that way?

Thanks!
Denis

How far is the tow...? Pretty simple to undo the rear universal and tie up the driveshaft then for sure no problems...

tools... 1-7/16ths wrench & tie wire or rubber strap...

yep, my buddy's fairlane was in need of tow, so I dropped his driveshaft at the rear pumpkin on the ground in a parking lot in like 5 minutes. Its only about 4 or 5 easy bolts. You can use wire to hold it to one of the exhaust pipes or frame rails until you're ready to hook it back up. I guess my point is, its such an easy thing to do, its really a non-issue, just do it.
