You could easily get 300hp out of it.....I would go for it TPI will give you a great running clean motor.
Great for a daily. And if you feel comfortable in doing it I say go for it. Its not that its hard to do.....just gotta do it! |

oh ok...thats good...all i want is at least 300-330hp with bolt on's,such as...shorty headers, roller tip rockers, double timing chain, and throttle body spacer (if there's sum for tpi)... or is it going to make a Lil bit more hp than that with everything together...???

I installed TPI on my 350 in my pickup. Its got an RV cam , World S/R heads and 4 valve relief flat tops. I believe its about 9:1 compression and I got 212 rear wheel HP and 292 FT/LBS rear wheel torque.

not at the motor......but you can figure on losing 20-30 Hp with a Stick shift and 40-50 with a auto.
Most HP ratings you hear are all flywheel ratings. Even on those window stickers at the dealership. WHY? because they sound better. |

That was with a TH350 auto.
It wouldn't rev higher than 4900 RPM also. The green line is with a air filter box and stock exhaust manifolds and 2.5" single exhaust and cat. The blue line is after I took off the filter box and left it open at the throttle body. The red line is with 2.5 dual exhaust, tuned 1.5" primary headers, H pipe, cats and a huge K&N air filter. |

oh ok...and just this one question...i have a 2 bolt main 350 sbc and i just bought a 4 bolt main 350...whats the difference...??? does the 4 bolt offer more hp or what i just dont know that...
i think am using the 4 bolt bored 40 over for hi-performance use on my t/a and the 2 bolt main bored 40 over for the tpi setup daily driver for the camaro... |

My intent was not to say a 350 is better. I was just throwing out some info for you. The 327/300 HP is a rating at what RPM?
Remember, a stock TPI runs out of breath at 5000 RPM's. As for 2 bolt and 4 bolt , you have it correct. You could never produce enough power with the (stock) TPI to break the 2 bolt. If I could do it over, I would have stroked the 350 to 383. The torque is good now, but it would have been alot better as a 383. |

oh ok...well for the 4 bolt main i will throw in a 280h comp cam, performer rpm intake, plus the headers and so on...but the only thing thats holding the hp down are the heads...i know that votecs work good but i just dont have the matching intake for those kind of heads...i would like to know what heads should i use that are better flowing and have big valves like 1.94-up 1.5-up...
right now i have the following heads on my shop...but there just junk as i have read about them...well i have-305 tbi heads (14101081) with 58cc 305 tpi heads (14022601) with 53cc 350 tbi heads (14102183) with 64cc 350 c4 corvette heads (462624) with 76cc and 2.02/1.6 valves...but all i know is that 305 heads will not go good with a 350 flat top pistons with 10.3 cr with 64cc...and tbi heads wont flow good enough, and the vette heads break easily...well thats what i read from them... i have the budget to buy aftermarket alumminum heads...but the thing is that i want to use cast iron cause they can take more heat than alumminum... i wanted to know if someone knows any cast iron head that has good flow numbers and big valves besides the vortec...???and should i be able to find them in used autoparts or junk yard...???or choose from what i got...??? |

I would slap those 76cc heads with the big valves on your DD and go ahead and buy some alums for your Hi-Po motor.
Another good head would be the double humps....however if you do find any they will cost about as much to rebuild as a new set of alum ones. |

by installing the c4 vette heads (462624) 2.02/1.6 are they able to stand the tpi...or am i risking that they will break...???cause i read that they break easily...
with what engine and car do those double humps heads come with...theres like so many places i can find them for cheap here locally were i live so i can just ask them... any other good cast iron chevy heads or any gm heads that fits real good on a 350 and flow good/big valves...???help plz... |
