TPI Intake on TBI heads

Do you guys know if the Tuned Port Injection manifolds have angled center bolts like the TBI cylinder heads, and are they a direct bolt on. I've got a guy who wants to buy a special set of torque heads I've built and he's asking me if a TPI will bolt on. I don't have any tuned port set ups laying around, so I can't give him an answer.

Could be wrong on this, but I believe it depends on the year. I think that 85-86 would not work, but 87-? might. Siggy_Freud seems to be studied up on this stuff and would probably know for sure.

The heads are the same as any other, pre-87 have angled bolts and 87-up have vertical center bolt/studs. So the manifolds follow likewise. His lower manifold would have to be drilled out to fit onto your heads.

I went through this when I was looking at setting up a TPI system on my block, had to hunt down a pre-87 TPI unit so that the bolts would fit. Try this site, lots of working knowledge about TPI: http://www.thirdgen.org/techbb2/
whole section dedicated to TPI in the tech boards section, about 1/4 page down.

If that's the case, his manifold should fit since it's an 87 model TPI. I would have to think that it should have the center bolts that are at a different angle from the outer four bolts just like any TBI head would be. It's no big deal, because I can redrill the head if need be, but I would like to know what I'm dealing with here.

Im pretty sure the corvette L98 TPI had the aluminum heads which have the old standard intake bolt angles. The TBI heads have the more vertical center intake bolt angles.
