Maybe I should limit my search/research for a suggested engine from you guys that I should be able to easily find in a pick and pull.I can tell you that I am not interested in the 5.3's.I seems too small for my purposes.

It depends what your goals are, there's guys pushing over 700hp on stock long blocks. And a 5.3L can be picked up for a few hundred bucks, a 6.0L will cost a few grand, a 6.2L will cost almost 5 grand.

my 6.0l is in an 09 2500hd extended bed, extended cab.

Well maybe I haven been posting on the forum long enough, but I'm big on torque and not thrilled with hp numbers for a street vehicle.I want better(much better) gas mileage than I would get with a 383 too.Don't care if it is a aluminum block to save wt.Want something that I don't have to worry about cylinders moving around for ring sealing or the bottom end problems if while playing with causes issues.Maybe some sort of stroker combo that still give great gas mileage that I don't have to spin to the moon to get what I want out of it.A rough diamond pick and pull that I could build off it.
