The 260 is an Oldsmobile small block.
If the 307 has the oil filler tube on the passenger side just behind the water pump it is also an Oldsmobile small block.
It will fit.

General Motors only made two VERY common engine-to-transmission bolt patterns, and a few other less than common patterns.
Mainly the Chevy, and Buick, Olds, Pontiac, Cadillac.

Oldsmobile did, for a while, use a transmission with a dual bolt pattern. They would bolt to either Chevy or BPOC. They did that because they used some Chevy engines and didn't tell anyone. There was a bug stirr over that in the 80's.
