Post Tranny shake, rattle &roll

88 Buick Century (3800 engine)was running fine until engine washed at car wash- vehicle now shakes when accelerating in "D" or "OD" - if you gun it, it downshifts and works fine until it shifts in OD and then the shaking returns- D drove it 35 miles with no improvement and then let it sit, thinking something got wet and may dry when heat builds up, for 1 1/2 hours. No improvement. is there a relay or solenoid in the engine compartment that could have got wet and where is it located. Tranny was serviced and fluid/filter replaced 10,000 miles ago. Any ideas?

First make sure the plug wires are dry at the coil. Then take a OHMS meter and check the plug wires and coils. You have killed one of the two. it only misses in d and od because the engine is in a strain. ROY
