I am about to put a 455 pontiac in my 67 firebird. I wanted to know which tranny I should put behind this engine. The engine will be producing around 510 hp and 550 torque. I want an automatic 4 speed transmission.

If it where me I would go with a 200r4 but im not sure it will hold up to the torque you have I know people have had them built to handle more then stock but I beleve they have like a .68 4th gear

That's what I was thinking about, but this car will be driven on the street more than at the track so I didn't want anything that would give me hard shifts.
