Post Trans cooler = lower engine temp

I have 65 Riv that gets hot in the summer. New radiator (3 row) and good shroud, fan clutch,... but if its 90 degrees out and I run my a/c then it will heat up (no temp guage but the HOT light comes on when I kill it - so I know its pretty hot).

The question is will adding a transmission cooler lower the temp on my radiator?

Like to put a electric fan in front of the radiator but there is not room since it has the headlight motor there.

The heat from your trans is going into your engine coolant now. An external cooler would release heat to the air. It would also help your trans live longer. Or you could just have a temp sender that's slightly off.
