Trans fluid drip from tv shaft

First off let me say that I don't know very much about transmissions, so forgive me if my wording is incorrect. I have an 83 ford F150 with an aod. It has a small drip at the tv shaft. The leak produces about a 50 cent size spot on the floor in about 2-3 days. Is there an easy fix to this problem? Will this problem increase with the engine running?

Appreciate any help.

Cool

the shaft you mention is actually a shaft with in a shaft.

The TV shaft is inside the shift shaft. There is a seal in the middle on the TV shaft. It can be replaced without removing the pan. Remvoing the nut that retains the lever and the seal is right there.

if the seal for the shift shaft is leaking, then you can some times dig the seal out nd replace it. Or remove the pan and valve body to get the shafts out and replace the seals to avoid cutting them doing it the short cut method
