I have a 96' Ram 1500 2 wheel drive with a 360 engine, auto overdrive with 200,000 miles. My problem is that it doesn't shift properly, I can start down the road an it will shift the way it should, but when I stop an take off again or go around a corner it doesn't want to shift into second gear and when it does shift into 2nd gear it still won't go into 3rd, sometimes when I stop it will stay in 2nd gear when I give it gas . This problem just started, I just drove it 175 miles this weekend an had no problems, it have the right amount of fluid. Can anyone offer some advice. Do I need a rebuild or could it be a minor problem. I haven't been able to try overdrive

Classic signs of a worn, tired trans. If the TV cable is not seized, the problem is internal. Most likely a drum seal that has shrunk due to age and wear. Sad but true, this happens regularly to Mopar OD trans......
