trans problem

my 1996 4l60e trans broke a gear in the planetery gear. I got a 1995 4l60e from a junkyard. It brings up code p1860. I have troubleshot it to being a 1995 trans and not having a tcc solenoid from new. I have found out that the 1995's were diferent because of this. My question is:-
Can I put the valve body from the 1996 into the 1995, and use it. Or will it not work

1995 was a stand alone year for the 4l60E's where valve bodys are concerned ...earlier or later valve bodys will not work.

If your pump says "PWM" on it, you should be able to put the 96 vb into the 95 case and run with it. You may need to change the inside wires also if the numbers on the solenoid do not match.

If the 95 pump does not say "PWM", you cannot make it work. 95s came both ways, with and without PWM.

Or you can recase the 96 with the 95 gear train minus the pump and drums.

trans update

Well I used the VB from the 96. The spacer plate had a hole in for the sol oil supply. I used the wire 96 harness and soleniod, and took a chance on the oil pump. The truck ran good , first to second was a bit hard but other than that all was good. The good thing for me is that if the trans does break or stop working then I have 90 days to take it back and change it. Thanks for the advice.
