Has anyone here used a tape or dvd to do this as a d,i,y project I have a ford tranny and two types of chevy trans to get running , I figure buy the thrid one I should have some idea what I am doing LOL

I have an excellent DVD (very informative, but production is a little amateurish) on rebuilding the TH350. Same outfit does DVDs on the TH400 and the P-glide. Can't remember the name of the outfit, but I have it at home. I'll post it in a couple of hours.

I worked for AAMCO in the early 90's and they produced training tapes for the franchise shops. I have seen every tape.

I build transmissions for a living and I doubt someone[ a novice ] could watch any of those tapes then subsquently build a transmission correctly, by virtue of just watching those tapes.

But there may be "better" tapes out there.

I've never pulled a tranny apart, so this video was very informative for me. I'm not sure I would tackle a tranny rebuild just based on the video, though. I think briscoe has a point. It can't be as easy as the video makes it look!!
