Trans swap
Can I put a 700 R4 trans on a 1955 265 engine? my concern is mounting the starter. The current starter mounts to the powerglide trans.

Any of the Tri-Five vendors sell a steel plate that gets sandwiched between the engine block and any late model style trans. The starter (the old style 3 bolt that bolts to the bellhousing) bolts to that plate. They run around $100.00. You have to use a 168 tooth flex plate.
