trans swap from camaro to truck

hi all, i searched threw some other post and never really got a straight answer, and if i missed one that discussed this i am sorry for the bother.

ok, i am looking to take a 700r4/4l60 out of a camaro v8 and put it in a c1500 pickup2wd v8 my concern is if there any modifications that would need done to make it work or will it just go right in? i know i may have to change the speedometer gear to adapt the electronic speedo if its mechanical/cable. and that the casing is thinner from a car to truck but im not going to be doing any towing or anything like that with it, its a cruiser not a worker.

thanks to all that lend advice

What Year Truck?
Engine? Carb or EFI?

Shouldn't be much trouble. There's no difference in Case thickness between Truck & Car with the TH700R4.
A 700R4 from 87-92 or up to 93 from Camaro/TA is best, they have the most factory upgrades. The Tailhousing is different on the F-body Trans & may need to be swapped to bolt up to the Truck Crossmember.
TV cable is the most important part to install correctly.

I've seen the thicker Cases on the 3L80/TH400 & 4L80E but, not the 700R4/4L60. Are you thinking of the 4L60E/4L65E?

no, they are more common on those but they also did it on the 700r4/4l60 and 4l60-e

the main reason i asked about the fitment of the car to truck is worried that the output shafts would be shorter, i don't see why they would on a 2wd but GM has done some weird stuff .. like a 700r4 off a 2.8v6 or 3.1v6 besides bolt pattern they have fewer frictions(clutches) in them so behind a v8 they wont last long, never new that until i pulled one apart from an s10

The only 2WD 700R4 that the Tail length & Output Shaft length is different on is the Corvette, 82-96 is about 7/8" shorter.
All are 27-spline Output Shaft. The early 82-84 have 27-spline Input Shaft, late 84 to 85up have 30-spline Input Shaft & auxillary Valve Body.

Yeah, the 2.8L, 3.1L 3.4L V6's are 60* Engines/Bells.
