Trans tool, lock ring pliers?
Hi All,
I managed to break a good set of snap ring pliers trying to remove a lock ring from a T-5 main shaft. Would be a better option? Russ |
Went ahead and ordered it, will post back with results later...

I bought these a while back. I used them in my transfer case odyssey. They were ok. I am saving for some nicer snap on or matco ones. The one you posted looks pretty nice for the money. I'll probably order a set next time I place an amazon order as they are pretty inexpensive. The problem I have with cheap pliers of any kind is the softness of the metal at the pivot. With a ball pien and a sturdy surface it can be adjusted but It is a hassle. |
I'd forgotten about this, so thanks for the reminder. The tool is rugged and works great! I'd recommend it to anyone.

We use some pretty huge snaprings in some of our products. The only ones we had in the shop were the pliers you posted Russ; and they work great. Only thing we don't like is that you can't replace the tips and they're kinda small. When we came out with our modular countershaft design; we needed a safer, stronger set of pliers, with more leverage. So we use these for the big'uns.
