New to the board first of all...
I just finished a fresh th350 and installed a hipster pro transbrake along with a 9" 4500rpm stall converter. The brake works in 1st and reverse like it's supposed to. When I shift into high gear, the tranny locks up like it's in first gear with the brake on. Anyone have any suggestions? I've build several automatics, but this is my first transbrake. Does the valve phasing on the modulator valve have any effect on normal operation?? Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated... chad |

We use Hipster stuff on non GM trannys since we build our own valve bodies for GM applications. We've never had a problem with them.
I would ask if you built the tranny fresh with the tranz brake or added the brake valve body on to a previous built/functioning tranny? Did you use gaskets on the valve body separator plate? Are you using the supplied valve in place of the OEM modualator valve? The phasing is imporatnt so the proper oil flow happens when the solenoid is engaged / dis-engaged.

Like I said, the tranny is fresh. Everything new. There was no modulator valve included, I had to modify the existing one. I'm going to pull the pan and the valve body tomorrow and double check the phasing. That got to be the problem. Everything else is new...
