transbrake launching....is it true.......?

Getting ready to install a transbrake glide in my car and have never used one.
Was told that in a properly working transmission when the brake is engaged, that the car can stall on the converter without the use of a 2 step, and will only turn as much RPM as the converter allows.
true?
hey, ever notice that this looks like he's trashing a bellhousing? hehe

Cool

Well .......... the engine will only RPM up to where the converter allows with the transbrake applied.

many guys still run a 2 step limiter. Often tied to the transbrake button. The brake button is released and the trans brake and rev limiter both come off at once.

You decide what the car wants/needs with some testing.

good luck

what I'm trying to do is get around some rules in a class that states NO 2-Step limiters, but does not say no transbrakes.
Its kind of crappy and grasping at straws, but if they don't specify yes or no then I'll try it. if I can launch on the brake without the rev limiter, then i'll be good. I do know however if the tranny is not working well, some guys jump backwards when they go on the brake too hard. fluid pressure to the reverse drive is stronger than in forward.

thanks, needed to hear it from someone else to assure me that I'm sane. lol

Part of that statement is incorrect. The pressure feeding both clutch packs or band depending on the tranny in use is equal when the transbrake is applied.

If the tranny has a problem the car can roll out of the lights backwards or forward depending on which part of the tranny is not holding correctly.

Don't get a pro tree brake for the street. You have to hold the button in while in reverse........ok if backing up in a straight line, kinda sucks when turning. Get a full tree brake.
