Transbrake & Torque Converter

I have a TH400 Race Built Tranny to 900HP. I was wanting to know if there is any performance advantages of using a stall convertor if you are using a transbrake. A transbrake allows you to reach the desired RPM before launch so I do not see any advantage of having to use a stall convertor. Any tips or suggestions would be welcomed. Thanks

you must be new to drag racing , torque converters and trans brakes.

The engine will not reach a desired RPM for a launch with a trans brake unless the converter is built to allow the extra stall speed RPM.

The converter needs to be built a bit stronger for trans brake operation too. Anti-balloon plates are usually added

To add to Crosley's reply, for optimum performance, the engine needs to run at, or near, the torque peak to the horsepower peak. If you were to leave a converter in, that had too low of stall, the engine would probably bog on the launch and wouldn't have its potential power after each shift. Of course, having a lot of power, at the launch, may present traction problems, but that can be worked out too!
