Transfercase Scyclone Project

So I finally have my project Truck ( 91 4x4 s10). I have plans for a 300hp 4.3 engine. My question is if I have 300hp, will the truck act as a scyclone or do I need a awd TC from an astro van, and if so will it be strong enough? Are there any other parts I should be considering? Your opinions and advice are greatly appreciated.

Have you ever driven a 4x4 locked in 4wd, I'm sure you have. Try turning short locked in 4wd and you will get all the binding and slipping feel that you would like. So I don't think you 91 4x4 will work that well for you, plus they eat lots of horsepower. As far as the Astro T-Case I doubt it would hold 300 HP. But it sere sound fun if it would work!!!

I know you can use a case from a Bravada, I think the Astro will work also. The Syclone/Typhoon use the same transfer case, if I remember correctly they were 260 hp new. Many owners have upped the ponies using the stock case. They will easily handle 300 hp. I have a 92 Bravada AWD, the transfer case is actually a third differential. It splits the torque 35% front 65% rear, when the rears slip it goes 50/50. There are no binding issues.
